India’s Growth Could Near 7% Despite Triple Economic Shock

Poonam Gupta of the Reserve Bank of India said India’s economy could grow by nearly 7%.

The RBI’s official forecast for FY27 is 6.7% growth.

India is facing higher oil prices, United States tariffs and uncertainty around the world.

Less favorable rainfall could also create difficulties.

Gupta said the economy has continued to show strength despite these problems.

She said inflation has become more stable and averaged about 4.8% in recent years.

India’s banks and financial institutions have also become more resilient.

Services exports, remittances and trade diversification are helping support the economy.
