Indian Pilgrims Return to Nepal After Tibet Border Floods

Flash floods destroyed the main border crossing between Tibet and Nepal.

Many Indian pilgrims and other tourists were unable to leave Tibet.

On Saturday, they began using another crossing called Zhangmu.

One returning group included 31 people from Hyderabad.

G Sateesh Reddy said many buses and vehicles were heading toward Nepal.

The pilgrims learned about the flooding while walking around Mount Kailash.

Reddy said Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake were not affected.

The floods killed more than 600 people, according to the report.
