Keralam Desks Planned in Five Global Cities to Attract Investment
Keralam plans to open investment desks in five cities around the world.
They will be in Dubai, London, New York, Singapore and Tokyo.
The desks will work with groups of people from Keralam who live in those places.
Their goal is to help more people invest in Keralam, rather than focusing mainly on money sent home.
The desks will find possible investors and share their details with the state’s Invest Keralam Cell.
They will also collect information about business opportunities and rules in their cities.
Local recognised organisations will host the desks voluntarily.
The government says the plan will not cost the state money.
The Keralam government has sanctioned desks in Dubai, London, New York, Singapore and Tokyo.
The initiative is part of the state government’s 100-Day Action Plan.
The desks are intended to shift diaspora engagement from remittances toward long-term investment.
Recognised Non-Resident Keralite organisations will host and support the desks voluntarily, at no cost to the state.
The desks will identify investment leads and refer them to KSIDC’s Invest Keralam Cell.
