KYC Scam Evolves with Phone Calls and OTP Theft
Scammers are using a new trick to steal money from people's bank accounts.
They call you and say your account will be blocked if you don't update your KYC (Know Your Customer) information.
They then trick you into giving them a special code sent to your phone, called an OTP (One Time Password).
Once they have this code, they can access your account and take your money.
It's important to remember that banks will never ask for your OTP over the phone.
Always check with your bank directly if you get a call like this.
Scammers use phone calls and text messages to impersonate bank officials.
They claim the victim's account will be blocked if KYC is not updated immediately.
Victims are tricked into providing OTPs, allowing scammers to access their accounts.
The scam is a variation of the previous KYC update scam that used fake websites.
Victims are advised to verify any suspicious calls with their bank directly.
