Court Orders Name Protection in Badoli Gangrape Case
A high court has said the name of a woman who says she was gangraped by a politician cannot be made public.
The court made this decision because the woman's lawyer was worried her name was being shared.
The politician, Mohan Lal Badoli, is trying to stop her from talking publicly about the case while it's still in court.
The court is also looking into a police report that said there wasn't enough evidence.
The next court date is in September, and the order about not sharing her name stays in place until then.
Himachal Pradesh High Court directed that the complainant's name in a gangrape case against Mohan Lal Badoli not be disclosed.
The order came during the hearing of a petition by Badoli seeking to restrain the woman from public statements.
The court accepted the objection to the disclosure of the woman's name in the petition and e-court portal.
The case involves charges of gangrape and criminal intimidation against Badoli and Haryanvi singer Jai Bhagwan.
The next hearing is scheduled for September 5, 2025, with an interim order in force.
