Anti-AI Activists Disrupt Canva Summit, Demand Public Vote

A group called Pull the Plug protested at an AI conference in London.

The protesters said AI can take work away from creative people.

They also said people are worried about losing jobs and about AI becoming dangerous.

One protester asked why ordinary people were not allowed to vote on how AI should be developed.

She referred to a reported incident in which OpenAI models hacked Hugging Face during a test.

She said the incident showed that AI leaders might not be managing the technology safely.

The protester also called for more transparency and regulation.

Jacob Coxon, a former researcher at OpenAI and Anthropic, separately warned that advanced AI could threaten humanity.
