Andhra Pradesh Issues 627 Compassionate Power Department Appointments

The Andhra Pradesh government has given jobs to 627 family members of electricity workers who died while working.

These jobs are called compassionate appointments because they help support the workers’ families.

Energy Minister Gottipati Ravikumar handed job orders to 27 people at a government office.

He said the government is now providing these jobs within four months.

The government also plans to train 7,000 energy assistants.

It is working to fill 629 Assistant Engineer jobs, although legal challenges affect the recruitment process.

The state is also building power infrastructure and preparing its power plants and coal stocks for expected demand.

The minister said electricity prices have not gone up since the coalition government took office.

Solar units are planned for six lakh SC/ST families.
