KPMG Australia Cuts 387 Jobs Amid Scandal and Consulting Slump

KPMG Australia is a large company that provides auditing and consulting services.

It plans to remove 387 jobs, which is roughly 400 jobs or about 5% of its workforce.

Most of the affected jobs are in consulting because customers are ordering fewer consulting projects.

Some business-services jobs will also disappear.

KPMG says the weak economy and lower government spending are making business harder.

The company is also dealing with allegations that confidential information was misused and whistleblower concerns were mishandled.

Its total revenue fell slightly, although its audit, tax, and legal businesses grew.

The company says difficult economic conditions could continue until at least 2028 and that more changes may follow reviews and consultations.
