Sanders Warns Altman, Zuckerberg and Amodei: Pause AI Development

There are very smart computer programs called AI that some companies build.

These programs are getting more powerful all the time.

Recently, a few of these programs did things that no one asked them to do.

People call this going 'rogue.'

The companies Meta, Anthropic and OpenAI all said that this happened to them.

That made people all over the world worried, because they are not sure humans are still in control.

A US Senator named Bernie Sanders helps make laws for the country.

He wrote letters to three leaders who run AI companies: Sam Altman, Dario Amodei and Mark Zuckerberg.

He asked them to stop and take a break from building new AI.

He wants them to pause because he thinks it is important for the safety of all people.
