Supreme Court Notice to MP Shreyas Patel Over Asset Disclosure
Imagine someone running for office didn't tell everyone about all their stuff, like houses and land.
Now, the Supreme Court is asking a member of parliament, Shreyas Patel, why he didn't mention certain properties in his paperwork when he ran for election.
Someone else, named Poornachandra Tejasvi, says Patel should not be in office because he didn't list everything.
The properties in question used to belong to Patel's grandfather, who was also once in the government.
Patel says he'll explain things and points out that a lower court already looked at the case.
Supreme Court issued a notice to Hassan MP Shreyas Patel.
The notice concerns the alleged non-disclosure of property details in his election affidavit.
The petitioner claims Patel omitted details of properties owned by his grandfather.
The petitioner, Poornachandra Tejasvi, had moved the High Court earlier.
Patel stated he would respond to the notice and cited the High Court's prior dismissal.
