SEBI Proposes Changes to Block Deals, CAS, and Women Investors
SEBI, India's market regulator, is updating rules for big stock trades (block deals) and how closing prices are set.
They are making the minimum size of these large trades bigger and allowing for more price movement.
The system for figuring out closing prices is changing to happen later in the day and should be less jumpy.
Also, SEBI is encouraging more women to invest by giving incentives.
They are asking the public for their thoughts on these changes before they become official.
SEBI proposes to raise the minimum block deal order size to ₹25 crore.
The price band for block deals in non-derivatives stocks will be widened to ±3%.
SEBI is revising the Closing Auction Session (CAS) framework.
The CAS will run for 20 minutes, from 3:15 pm to 3:35 pm.
