Kishan Reddy Slams Arrests, Demands Withdrawal of GO 97

Polytechnic students in Telangana are protesting against a government order called GO 97.

They say it could hurt their education and future careers.

Union minister G. Kishan Reddy said the BJP supports their peaceful protests.

He accused police of using batons and arresting some students.

He also said BJP leaders were placed under house arrest while trying to support the students.

Reddy wants the government to cancel GO 97 immediately.

He said the order could make it harder for students to move from polytechnic courses into engineering degrees.

BJP spokesperson NV Subhash also said the government detained opposition leaders after a successful fee-arrears protest.
