July DA Hike and 8th Pay Commission: What Employees Know

July DA Hike and 8th Pay Commission: What Employees Know

Government employees and pensioners are waiting to learn whether their allowance will increase in July 2026.

This allowance is called Dearness Allowance, or DA.

It helps adjust pay when prices change.

The government last increased DA from 58% to 60% in January 2026.

A possible increase to 63% has been discussed, but it is only a guess for now.

The final number will be announced by the government after using price-index data.

The 8th Pay Commission is also studying salaries, allowances, pensions and service conditions.

It is collecting ideas from employees, pensioners and other groups before making recommendations.
