Rohini Road to Reopen with Restrictions
A road called Rohini Road, which connects the plains to the Darjeeling hills, was damaged by a landslide.
After repairs, it will reopen on New Year’s Day.
At first, only SUVs and motorcycles will be allowed to use the road.
This is because the repaired parts might get damaged again if heavy vehicles are allowed.
The road is important for tourists and people who travel between Siliguri and Darjeeling.
It makes the journey shorter and cheaper.
The drivers who operate shared taxis hope that the road will stay safe and only SUVs will be allowed to use it.
