Coalition Government Announces Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Reforms, Jobs

Andhra Pradesh's coalition government says it is changing higher education.

It wants students' studies to connect more closely with available jobs.

The government says it has already filled 22,000 government positions.

It plans to announce another 10,000 jobs in stages.

The first stage includes jobs for 1,523 university teachers.

Later stages include senior government officers, police workers and other department employees.

A separate announcement will cover 2,995 school-teacher posts.

The government also wants to make it easier to create private universities and plans to train young people with help from industry.
