Lok Sabha Passes National Honour and Exam Reform Bills
The Indian Parliament approved two new laws.
One law will give the song Vande Mataram the same legal protection as the national anthem, and it will honor its writer, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.
The other law will make exams fairer by stopping cheating.
A man named Lanka Dinakar said the laws are good and praised the Prime Minister.
He also said the Congress party did not help during the debate and that people who caused violence should be punished.
The laws were passed in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament, in 2026.
The National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 were passed in the Lok Sabha.
Lanka Dinakar, chairman of the Twenty Points Programme (Viksit Bharat–Swarna Andhra Pradesh) Implementation, praised the bills as significant reforms under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The National Honour Bill seeks to promote full rendition of “Vande Mataram” and give it legal protection similar to the national anthem, honoring author Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.
Dinakar criticized the Congress for not engaging constructively during the debate and called for legal action against those responsible for violence in recent protests.
The Public Examinations Bill introduces stricter measures to curb malpractice and protect students’ interests.
