India Puts Global South at Centre of BRICS Summit
BRICS is a group of 11 countries whose leaders are meeting in New Delhi.
India is hosting the meeting for two days, starting Saturday and ending Sunday.
The leaders will talk about food, energy and reliable supply chains.
They will also discuss trade, investment, technology and economic growth.
India wants BRICS to focus on the needs of developing countries, known as the Global South.
The meeting is happening while countries face trade disagreements and several international crises.
Members may not agree on a joint statement because Iran and the United Arab Emirates have different views about the West Asia crisis.
The summit is expected to end with a document called the New Delhi Declaration.
