CuraTeQ Terminates Biosimilar Agreement with BioFactura
CuraTeQ Biologics, a company owned by Aurobindo Pharma, has decided to end its agreement with BioFactura Inc.
This agreement was about making and selling a medicine called BFI-751, which is similar to another medicine called ustekinumab.
The decision was made after a review and to focus on other important projects.
Both companies agreed to end the deal, and it won't affect Aurobindo Pharma's plans for other similar medicines.
The stock price of Aurobindo Pharma was slightly down on Friday.
CuraTeQ Biologics and BioFactura Inc mutually agreed to terminate their biosimilar agreement for BFI-751.
The decision was made after a strategic review to prioritise CuraTeQ's portfolio.
The agreement, signed in July 2023, aimed to commercialise the biosimilar in regulated markets.
BioFactura was entitled to licence fees, while CuraTeQ held global manufacturing rights under a profit-sharing structure.
The termination, effective December 27, 2025, is not expected to impact Aurobindo Pharma's broader biosimilars strategy.
