AITUC Protests for Worker Reinstatement and Wages
The All-India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) organized protests in Nandyal to support two groups of workers.
First, they want the government to bring back sanitation workers who were recently fired from government hospitals.
The workers say they were let go unfairly using a rule about age.
Second, they want the government to give Anganwadi workers the higher salary of Rs.26,000 per month that was promised.
The protesters also said that Anganwadi workers are under a lot of pressure because of too many apps and political interference.
They warned that if the government doesn't listen, they will protest even more, including a big protest at the Chief Minister's office.
Many workers and union leaders joined the protests to show their support.
AITUC organized protests in Nandyal for the reinstatement of sanitation workers and a wage hike for Anganwadi staff.
Sanitation workers were dismissed under what they claim are 'misleading and arbitrary' government orders.
Anganwadi workers demand the implementation of a Rs.26,000 monthly salary and recognition as government employees.
Protesters accused the government of ignoring frontline workers' plight and warned of escalated agitation if demands are not met.
AITUC threatened to siege the Chief Minister’s camp office if their demands are not addressed promptly.
