Bengaluru To Get 5 Police Commissionerates, Anti-Rowdy Squad

Bengaluru To Get 5 Police Commissionerates, Anti-Rowdy Squad

The leader of Karnataka, Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, made a big announcement about the police in Bengaluru.

He wants to split the city's police into five parts, with one part for each of the five big areas called municipal corporations.

He also wants a special team called an anti-rowdy squad that will stop troublemakers and help people feel safe.

But some senior police officers are not happy about this plan.

They think the change may take power away from the police and give it to other government officials.

Other people are worried because making four new police departments could cost at least 75,000 crore rupees.

That is a very large amount of money, and the opposition party says the government already struggles to pay for its other promises.

They suggest adding more police stations instead of creating five separate police departments.

So the idea is to make Bengaluru safer, but many people have questions about how it will work and how it will be paid for.
