APMRC Invites Bids for Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada Metro Projects
Imagine they're building a new subway system in Visakhapatnam, called the Metro.
The Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (APMRC) is asking companies to bid on building the first part of it.
This first part will cost a lot of money.
They're also working on a similar project in Vijayawada.
This means they're planning to build elevated tracks, stations, and the trains that will run on them.
Companies have a long time to prepare their bids, until August 11, 2026.
The government is helping to pay for the projects.
APMRC invited bids for Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Phase 1.
Tenders are for Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the project.
The total cost of Visakhapatnam Metro Phase 1 works is ₹6250 crore.
Bids are due by August 11, 2026.
Vijayawada Metro Phase-I also approved with ₹10,118 crore cost.
