TMC to Remove Illegally Dumped Waste Near Ghodbunder Highway
Imagine a big pile of trash that got dumped in a place it shouldn't be, near a creek and forest.
The people in charge of the city are now getting rid of it.
They are removing around 10,000 tons of trash that was dumped there.
This happened because there was a problem with where the city stores its trash.
Some people were worried because they thought the trash might cause them to get sick because of the gases.
The city says the fires that happened were from gases, not someone starting them.
TMC will clear 10,000 tonnes of illegally dumped waste.
Waste is located along Gaimukh creekside.
Multiple fire incidents were reported at the site.
The dumping started after a waste management crisis in March.
Activists and residents raised concerns about health hazards.
