Railways Resume Qadian-Beas Rail Line Work
The Indian Railways have decided to restart work on a 40 km train track between Qadian and Beas in Punjab.
This project was stopped many times before because of problems like land issues and political reasons.
The Minister of State for Railways, Ravneet Bittu, has now ordered officials to remove all obstacles and start building the track again.
This train line was first planned way back in 1929 by the British government, but it was never finished.
The new track will help the industries in Batala, which is known as the 'steel town' of the region.
The Railways call this a 'socially desirable project' because it will help people even if it doesn't make much money.
Railways resume work on the 40 km Qadian-Beas rail line after it was 'defreezed' by Minister of State Ravneet Bittu.
The project was previously stalled due to alignment challenges, land acquisition issues, and political complications.
The line was originally sanctioned in 1929 and partially completed by 1932 before being shelved.
The project is classified as 'socially desirable' to promote inclusive growth and affordable transport.
The new track aims to boost industrial units in Batala, Punjab's 'steel town'.
