CISF honours three personnel killed in Kishtwar cloudburst rescue

CISF honours three personnel killed in Kishtwar cloudburst rescue

One year ago, a cloudburst hit a village in India.

A cloudburst is when the sky suddenly empties a huge amount of rain very quickly.

The village, called Chisoti, was crowded with pilgrims visiting the Machail Mata temple.

The heavy rain caused a terrible disaster.

Brave officers from a group called the CISF rushed in to save the pilgrims.

Three of these officers gave their lives while helping others.

Their names were M K Biswal, Anand Kumar, and Sanjay Kumar Murmu.

Sadly, 65 people died in the disaster, and more than 30 others were still missing.

One year later, the CISF held a ceremony to honour and remember these three heroes.

They said their motto is 'service before self' — putting the safety of others before yourself.
