Major Marathons Attract Thousands of Runners
Two big running events happened in India.
The first one, called the Assam Rifles Half Marathon, took place in Shillong and had over 3,000 runners from all over India.
The second one, the Vizag Navy Marathon, happened in Visakhapatnam and had over 17,000 runners, including people from 17 different countries.
Both events had different races, like short runs and long marathons.
The winners got medals, certificates, and even some money.
Important army and government officials started the races and praised the runners.
The events were made to help people stay fit and have fun together.
Over 3,000 participants from 26 states and 2 Union territories took part in the fifth edition of the Assam Rifles Half Marathon in Shillong.
The Assam Rifles Half Marathon featured three categories: Cloud Chase (21 km), Pine Path (10 km), and Crystal Stream (5 km).
Sandeep Devrari won the men's 21 km race with a timing of 1 hour 7 minutes, and Tamsi Singh won the women's 21 km category with a timing of 1 hour 23 minutes.
Over 17,000 runners, including international athletes from 17 countries, participated in the 10th edition of the Vizag Navy Marathon in Visakhapatnam.
The Vizag Navy Marathon featured multiple race categories, including a full marathon (42 km), half-marathon, Sankalp Run, 10 km, and 5 km runs.
