GHMC warns against removing safety barricades at Rehmath Nagar nala
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has asked people not to remove the safety barricades, caution tapes, and warning ribbons at the Rehmath Nagar nala construction site.
This is because removing these safety measures can be dangerous for both pedestrians and workers.
The GHMC has installed these safety measures to protect everyone while they are working on remodelling the old drain.
The project costs Rs 29 lakh and is being done by Adithya Associate Contractor.
The GHMC has asked local residents to stay away from the work zone and not to tamper with the safety barricades until the construction is completed.
GHMC has appealed to the public not to remove safety barricades, caution tapes, and warning ribbons at the Rehmath Nagar nala construction site.
The appeal follows a photo feature published by The Hans India on 23 July, highlighting safety risks posed by incomplete construction work.
GHMC officials stated that safety measures have been repeatedly provided to secure the work area, but local citizens continue to remove warning ribbons.
The existing Rehmath Nagar nala was constructed nearly 30 years ago and has become structurally weak, posing hazards to motorists and commuters.
The GHMC sanctioned a project for remodelling the drain into an RCC Box Drain at a cost of Rs 29 lakh, awarded to Adithya Associate Contractor for Rs 22.64 lakh.
