VHP Protests Karnataka's Cattle Transport Law Amendment
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is upset about a new rule in Karnataka that makes it easier to release vehicles caught transporting cattle illegally.
Right now, the law says you need a bank guarantee to get your vehicle back, but the government wants to change that to an indemnity bond.
The VHP thinks this will make it harder to stop people from doing bad things to cows and will make cattle theft worse.
They are planning to protest on December 8 and want the government to keep the old rule.
The VHP says the current law has already helped reduce crimes against cows, and they don't want that to change.
VHP demands withdrawal of proposed amendment to Karnataka's cattle transport law.
Current law requires a bank guarantee for vehicle release, amendment proposes indemnity bond instead.
VHP claims the amendment shows sympathy for cattle lifters and will increase cruelty against cattle.
VHP argues the current law has significantly reduced cattle-related offences.
Protests planned at the district level on December 8.
