Vidyasagar Setu to Close Sunday for Major Repairs
Imagine a big bridge in Kolkata called Vidyasagar Setu.
It needs some important fixes, like replacing special ropes and parts that hold it up.
So, the people who look after the bridge and the police have decided to close it all day on Sunday, November 16th.
This is to make sure everyone is safe while the work is done.
They will be replacing cables and bearings.
Because the bridge will be closed, cars will need to take different routes.
Police will help direct traffic, and people are being told to plan their trips and maybe use other bridges like the Howrah Bridge to get around without getting stuck in traffic jams.
Vidyasagar Setu in Kolkata will be closed on Sunday, November 16th, from 5 AM to 9 PM for repairs.
The closure is for major repair and maintenance, including the replacement of stay and holding down cables and bearings.
Vehicles heading west will be diverted via Hastings Crossing, St. George’s Gate Road, and Strand Road towards Howrah Bridge.
Traffic will be restricted on the bridge and its ramps, with police regulating flow on other roads.
Commuters are advised to plan routes using alternative bridges like Howrah Bridge to avoid congestion.
