TMC MP suspended for abusive language

TMC MP suspended for abusive language

Kalyan Banerjee, a member of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the Lok Sabha, was suspended for the rest of the Monsoon Session.

This happened because two women MPs complained to the Speaker, Om Birla, that Banerjee used abusive language against them.

After his suspension, Banerjee was not allowed to enter the House premises.

Later, he met with the Speaker for a hearing.

The incident started when Banerjee had a heated argument with some rebel MPs who used to be part of the TMC.

The opposition says Banerjee's language was inappropriate, while his party defends him, saying he was provoked.
