NExT Exam Postponed for 3-4 Years, NMC to Conduct Mock Tests
Imagine a big test for future doctors in India called NExT.
This test won't happen for a while, like 3 to 4 years.
The people in charge, the NMC, have decided to wait because they want to make sure everything is ready.
Before the real test starts, they plan to do practice runs, called mock tests, to see how it works and get opinions from students and schools.
These practice tests will be paid for by the NMC.
The NExT test is supposed to take the place of another important test for postgraduate medical studies.
This delay means they want to be extra sure the new test will be fair and helpful for everyone involved in medical education.
The National Exit Test (NExT) will not be implemented for the next three to four years, confirmed by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The NMC plans to conduct fully funded mock tests over the next few years to assess feasibility and gather feedback.
NExT is intended to replace the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG).
The decision follows directions from the AYUSH Ministry to related commissions to prepare for the exam.
FAIMA also presented recommendations on medical education, infrastructure, and doctor well-being during a meeting with the NMC.
