Mumbai Wearable Helps Parkinson’s Patients Walk Confidently

A company in Mumbai created a special wearable device called WALK to help people with Parkinson’s disease.

This disease can make it hard for people to walk smoothly, causing them to freeze suddenly.

The WALK device is worn on the legs and uses gentle vibrations and mild electrical signals to help the person keep walking.

It also connects to a phone app and a cloud system so doctors can monitor how well the person is doing.

Tests showed that the device helps reduce these freezing moments by half in just one use.

Nearly 300 families in India have used it, and people say it makes them feel more confident and independent.

The device is currently priced at Rs 50,000, and the creators are working to make it more affordable.
