Training Program Aims to Strengthen Chilli FPOs
A special training program is happening for chilli farmers in India.
The program is teaching them how to run their farmer groups better, handle chilli after harvest, and sell their chilli in other countries.
Important people from the government and companies are helping with this training.
The farmers are learning how to make their chilli better so they can sell it for more money.
They will also visit a big chilli market to see how chilli is sold to other countries.
This training is happening over three days and is meant to help farmers earn more money by following quality standards and selling their chilli in bigger markets.
A three-day training program on chilli FPO governance, post-harvest management, and export market linkages began at ICAR–NIRCA, Rajamahendravaram.
The program aims to strengthen governance, quality management, and market readiness of chilli-based FPOs to improve farmers' incomes and global competitiveness.
Organized jointly by ICAR–NIRCA, CII Foundation, and Orkla India Limited, the program includes an exposure visit to the Guntur chilli market yard.
Participants include CEOs and directors of chilli-based FPOs from Ballari, Karnataka, who are involved in chilli production, aggregation, and marketing.
