Mumbai Police Arrest Six Over Alleged Forged Documents For Bangladeshis

Mumbai Police arrested six people who are accused of being undocumented migrants from Bangladesh.

Police say the group helped Bangladeshi citizens get into India using fake documents.

Officers reportedly found 40 fake Aadhaar cards, PAN cards and railway tickets with QR codes.

The arrests happened during a wider effort to check whether some people are Indian citizens.

This effort increased after a terror attack in Pahalgam in April 2025.

Some Bengali-speaking people, mostly Muslims, have been detained during these checks.

Some people were reportedly sent to Bangladesh even though they were Indian citizens.

The Home Ministry has told authorities to verify suspected migrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar.
