Congress Spokesperson Receives Rs 100 Crore Defamation Notice
Pawan Khera, a spokesperson for the Congress party, was given a very big legal notice worth Rs 100 crore.
This is because he posted something on X (formerly Twitter) that suggested someone in a very high position helped a man named R P Gupta buy a media company.
The notice says Khera's post was false and hurtful, and it demands that he takes it back, says sorry, and promises not to say such things again.
If he doesn't do this, he might have to go to court and pay a lot of money.
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera received a Rs 100 crore defamation notice.
The notice was issued by R P Gupta, Chairman of The Statesman Ltd and Director of UNI.
Khera's post on X insinuated involvement of 'highest office' in Gupta's media acquisition.
The notice terms the post as 'bare-faced lies' and demands retraction, apology, and a written undertaking.
