Bengal Seeks to Fast-Track Industrial Investment After Durga Puja

West Bengal leaders say they want more businesses to invest in the state.

Samik Bhattacharya said investment may pick up after Durga Puja.

The state plans to improve infrastructure and encourage investors to set up where facilities are ready.

Industry Minister Tapas Roy is expected to travel to Mumbai after Kali Puja to meet businesspeople.

They may discuss land, water, roads and other facilities, incentives, and safety.

Some businesses with earlier links to Bengal are reportedly considering returning.

Bhattacharya also expects interest from medium-sized businesses and smaller companies.

The plans are not guaranteed, because each company must decide whether to invest.
