Gujarat Amends Textile Policy to Empower Women
The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, has made some important changes to the state's Textile Policy for 2024.
These changes will help women's self-help groups (SHGs) get more benefits.
The groups must be registered under certain national missions or be voluntary SHGs.
Additionally, small textile manufacturing units that do not cause pollution and are located within city limits will also receive benefits.
This includes businesses that make clothes, do embroidery, or other related activities.
The goal is to support women and small businesses in the textile industry.
Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel announced amendments to the Gujarat Textile Policy, 2024 to empower women's SHGs.
SHGs registered under National Rural/Urban Livelihood Mission or voluntary SHGs are now eligible for benefits.
Non-polluting textile manufacturing units in municipal areas will also receive benefits under the policy.
Covered activities include garments, apparel, made-ups, stitching, and embroidery.
