Rice Procurement Rises 7% in Oct-Dec 2025

The Indian government has bought 7% more rice in the first three months of the current season compared to last year.

They aim to buy 463.49 lakh tonnes of rice this year.

While some states like Punjab and Odisha bought less rice, other states like Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh bought much more.

This helped the government reach 72% of their target.

Farmers in some places are unhappy because the government is not buying as much rice as they expected.

The government has also set limits on how much rice they will buy from each farm.

In Tirupati, the government is preparing to buy all the paddy that farmers grow, ensuring they get a fair price.

They have set prices for different types of paddy and are making sure farmers know about these rules.
