AWS Brings OpenAI GPT-5.6 Terra and Luna to India
AWS says two OpenAI models, GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-5.6 Luna, are now available to organisations in India.
They can be used through a service called Amazon Bedrock.
The AI work can be processed on computer servers located inside India.
This can help organisations that want their data handled locally.
Terra is made for many different business tasks.
Luna is designed to be especially fast and affordable when many requests must be handled.
Businesses could use the models for writing software, analysing data, and automating work.
AWS and OpenAI said the models may be useful for regulated industries and other organisations.
The launch also includes recently reduced prices for both models.
AWS announced the general availability of OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 Terra and Luna models on Amazon Bedrock in India.
The models use in-country inferencing, with AI processing performed on AWS infrastructure located in India.
Terra is designed for general-purpose enterprise workloads, while Luna targets fast, cost-efficient, high-volume tasks.
Potential applications include software development, data analysis, workflow automation, and sensitive-data processing.
The launch follows price reductions of up to 80% for Luna and 20% for Terra, with the new pricing available on Amazon Bedrock.
