IMA Jharkhand Demands Clinical Establishment Act Amendment
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) in Jharkhand had a meeting where they asked the state government to change a law called the Clinical Establishments Act (CEA) and to start using another law called the Medical Protection Act (MPA).
They said the government has not done enough to help doctors and patients.
The IMA wants doctors to be able to open small clinics after registering, so patients can get treatment closer to home.
If the government doesn't do anything, the IMA might start protesting, which they don't want to do because it could hurt patients.
They also asked for more money for interns and senior doctors who haven't been paid in a long time.
IMA Jharkhand demands amendment to the Clinical Establishments Act (CEA) and implementation of the Medical Protection Act (MPA).
Government has not taken concrete steps despite assurances, leading to IMA's frustration.
Amendments to CEA would allow doctors to open small clinics after registration, benefiting patients by reducing referral cases.
IMA warns of potential agitation if demands are not met, which could disrupt patient care.
Meeting included over 80 representatives and additional demands for increased stipends and revised remuneration for interns and senior residents.
