ED Controversy Shadows CPI-M’s Kerala Poll Review Meeting

ED Controversy Shadows CPI-M’s Kerala Poll Review Meeting

The CPI-M is holding a three-day meeting in Kozhikode to discuss its poor election result.

Party members will examine what went wrong and how the organisation can improve.

Pinarayi Vijayan remains the party’s central leader in Kerala.

At the same time, the Enforcement Directorate has sought an FIR in a case involving a company once run by his daughter, Veena.

This has created another political problem for the party.

Vijayan says the investigation and the party meeting are separate matters.

Party leaders are expected to support him and avoid turning the review into a personal trial.

Other leaders may still raise questions about the election defeat and how the party functions.
