Australia Ends New International Enrolments in Graduate Diploma Course

Australia has stopped new international students from joining a particular graduate diploma course.

The course is called the Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning).

The government says it is worried that people may be misusing the student visa system through this course.

Julian Hill, an assistant minister, announced the decision on Friday.

The course is offered by vocational education and training providers.

The government has new powers to cancel courses for international students.

This is the first time it has used those powers for a specific course.

Providers will have their registration for this course suspended or cancelled automatically.
