Two arrested for routing cyber money through electricity bills

Two arrested for routing cyber money through electricity bills

Some bad people tricked a man living in Delhi into putting a special app on his phone.

The app let them take money from his credit card without his permission.

In this way, they stole more than Rs 2.24 lakh from him.

Police started investigating how the stolen money was moved around.

They found that part of the money was used to pay someone's electricity bill.

The police then arrested two men, Phool Singh and Sushil Kumar.

These men are accused of paying real people's electricity bills with stolen money.

After the bills were paid, the men collected the money in cash from those people.

They kept a small fee of 5 to 10 per cent and passed the rest along.

The police say this helped the fraudsters turn stolen digital money into cash.
