Hyderabad Protesters Demand CEC Resignation Over Voter Deletions

Hundreds of people gathered in Hyderabad to protest.

They were upset about police actions during protests in New Delhi.

They asked the country’s top election official, Gyanesh Kumar, to resign.

They also wanted a voter-checking process called the Special Intensive Revision to stop.

A protest speaker said the process could make it harder for some people to stay on voter lists.

He named Muslims, Dalits, Adivasis, migrant workers, and women as groups at risk.

These were claims made by the protesters.

A retired government officer said people should be free to speak against injustice.
