Assam Destroys Rs 300 Crore Drugs During 100-Day Crackdown

The Assam government is taking strong action against illegal drugs.

In the first 100 days of the administration, it destroyed drugs worth about Rs 300 crore.

The drugs were burned at a special facility in Nalbari district.

Officials say this prevents the seized drugs from returning to the streets.

Police and other agencies are also trying to arrest sellers and break trafficking networks.

In a separate 10-day campaign, authorities seized drugs worth Rs 472.51 crore.

The seizures included heroin and ganja.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the crackdown will continue.
