Construction Progresses for Giant Ganesh Idol in Hyderabad
In Hyderabad, a huge statue of the Hindu god Ganesha is being built for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
This year's statue will be 69 feet tall and is called Vishwa Shanti Maha Shakti Ganapati.
About 150 workers are working hard to build it.
The statue is made of clay, grass, and steel.
A special bracelet and a necklace made of many beads will be placed on the statue.
The construction started on June 6 and is expected to be finished before the festival.
The organizers say it represents devotion to the people of Hyderabad.
Construction is underway for the 69-foot tall Khairatabad Maha Ganapati idol in Hyderabad.
Approximately 60% of the work has been completed with the idol set to be in the form of Vishwa Shanti Maha Shakti Ganapati.
Around 150 workers are working day and night on the project, including artists, carpenters, and welders.
The idol is constructed with Rajasthan clay powder, dry grass, barley husk powder, and a steel frame.
A Rudraksha mala made of 140,000 beads will adorn the idol, and a silver bracelet will be placed on its wrist.
