Mumbai Railway Expands AC Services

Mumbai Railway Expands AC Services

The Mumbai suburban railway is adding 26 new air-conditioned (AC) local trains starting from January 26, 2026.

These new trains will replace some of the existing non-AC services.

The Central Railway will introduce 14 of these new AC trains, while the Western Railway will add 12.

This change is being made to make traveling more comfortable for passengers and to help reduce crowding on the trains.

Additionally, the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express will have four extra AC chair car coaches added from January 26 to March 7, 2026, allowing it to carry 278 more passengers.

This train covers a distance of 491 km in about 5 hours and 40 minutes and stops at Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali.

The new AC trains and expanded Vande Bharat services aim to provide better comfort and convenience for passengers commuting between these routes.
