Patil Urges Yamuna States to Reduce Water Use
Union Minister CR Patil had a meeting with other state ministers about the Yamuna river.
He asked them to use less water and let more flow into the river.
They talked about building projects to store water and make sure the river has enough water.
Patil also spoke at a big meeting about making India's water cleaner and more available.
He said India needs to save water because it doesn't have much compared to its big population.
The government has already built many water-saving projects and planted lots of trees.
Patil said building new dams is not a good idea because it's too expensive and takes too long.
Instead, he wants people to work together to save water and recharge groundwater.
Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil urged riparian states to reduce water consumption and let more flow into the Yamuna river.
The 9th meeting of the Upper Yamuna Review Committee discussed water management, storage projects, and e-Flow maintenance.
Haryana and Rajasthan are collaborating on a project to transfer Rajasthan's share of Yamuna water to a water-scarce region.
Patil emphasized the need for water-efficient practices and the implementation of three storage projects in the Yamuna basin.
The Vision for Sujalam Bharat Summit 2025 focused on water management, sanitation, and sustainable practices for long-term water security.
