Philippines Praises India’s Successful BRICS Summit, South-South Cooperation
The Philippines praised India for hosting a successful BRICS meeting.
BRICS is a group where countries discuss shared global and economic issues.
Philippine Foreign Secretary Ma Theresa P Lazaro said cooperation among developing countries is important.
She also praised the variety of countries now included in BRICS.
India hosted the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during the summit.
They talked about working together in defence, maritime security, infrastructure and technology.
The Philippines is also considering cooperation with the Indian Space Research Organisation through its new space agency.
