JD(U) Distances Itself from Tyagi's Bharat Ratna Request for Nitish Kumar

A former leader of the JD(U) party, K C Tyagi, wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

In the letter, he asked the Prime Minister to give the highest civilian award, called the Bharat Ratna, to Nitish Kumar, who is the Chief Minister of Bihar.

Tyagi thinks Nitish Kumar is very important in the socialist movement and has done a lot for the people.

However, the JD(U) party said that Tyagi's views are not the official views of the party.

They said that Tyagi's statements are his personal opinions and not related to the party's position.

The party also mentioned that they are not sure if Tyagi is still an active member of the party.

Another leader, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, welcomed the idea and said it would be wonderful if Nitish Kumar were to be conferred with the Bharat Ratna.
