'One Mother, Many Tongues' exhibition shows mothers as fierce protectors

In Delhi, there is a special art show called 'One Mother, Many Tongues.'

It is inside a beautiful old building called Humayun's Tomb.

The show is about mothers from long ago, shown in paintings and statues.

Some of the mothers in the show are soft and gentle, holding babies in their arms.

Others are fierce and strong, like warriors who protect children from danger.

One famous painting by the Italian artist Botticelli shows Mary holding baby Jesus.

Across the room, there is a scary-looking statue of a goddess named Chamunda, who wears a garland of heads.

The show tells us that mothers everywhere, in every time and place, take care of their children.

That is why it is called 'One Mother, Many Tongues' — one idea of motherhood, told in many different ways.
